I have four email accounts with my ISP, Gmail, Yahoo and 1&1 web hosting. When I installed MW Pro 2010 it CHANGED the port setting on two of the four accounts from 995 to 110 and I have no idea why. The only reason I discovered this is that my primary account (ISP) was "throbbing" forever when I checked email. Then I noticed the Yahoo account was doing the same thing. Funny thing is that it would check OK sometimes and at other times "throb on" until I stopped it.
I just wanted to pass this along as I have changed the ports and all "seems" to be working OK now.
My remaining challenge is struggling to get used to how to setup and manage the @#$%& filters. It took me a long time with the old version and things were perking along well. Now it's hit-and-miss so I'm having to read every line in the message summary window to decide if "Chinese email" (and others) are good or spam. Oh well, I guess I'll get there in time.

Most of your filters should just be a copy/paste to get them into 2010, regex may need some minor tweaks.
MW imports its settings somehow that I never figured out so it may have found the remnants of some other mail program to suck them in from.
