Filters not imported from MW 6
I have just bought and installed MW 2010. My friends and blacklist imported OK from MW 6 but not the filters. Did I do anything wrong or do I have to recreates them all again?

Re: Filters not imported from MW 6
You didn't do anything wrong, the filters do not import due to the minor differences in the v6 and 2010 filter tool.
All is not lost though, if you open v6 and 2010 side by side (both can run at the same time with no problems) you can use copy/paste to get your filters across. you may have to tweak a few of the settings but the text should be the same. If you have regex filters there may be a bit more tweaking needed but not too much and the new regex engine has excellent documentation and a test utility that make it a huge improvement over the v6 regex.

If you have a huge amount to do you might look at directly editing the filters.xml file and just adding them to that but it isn't usually worth the extra effort over using the filter screen.

Re: Filters not imported from MW 6
Thank you, much appreciated.
It is not a huge task for me but before I recreated my filters I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing how to import them from MW 6. I had to buy a new monitor recently and went for a 24" one, this gives plenty of screen real estate to easily do a side by side cut and paste

You'll love what MW looks like in a wide window, you can get a full set of columns and the mini sidebar or most of the important ones and the full spam tool sidebar.
Click twice - slowly to get scrolling controls.

Don't blame me... You folks are the ones that put that line in a BOLD font, not me!
