Want Blacklist to delete always

Mon Aug 09, 2010 3:23 am

I have added a domain to my blacklist.
The spam rating is set to the maximum -200.
I auto delete at -150
Unfortunately the learning filter came up with a +93 so the email doesn't auto delete since the net score was only -107.

How can I get blacklisted email to just delete.

Thanks

Set Up a Filter, Add a Spam Tool Rule for Name is on my blacklist and then set the filter option to either always mark for deletion on autodelete.

Create a filter with "Spam Tool Rule" "Sender is on my blacklist" then in Action use the "Override delete" "Auto-delete this mail".

Thanks
Was looking for a setting somewhere like previous versions.
Wasn't expecting to have to setup a filter.

Spammers are getting smarter and are developing methods that make trusting a blacklist a problem, more so if you aren't very careful what you add to it as they can trick you into deleting good messages. Better to rely on the new weighting method so that a message has to fail more than one test to be deleted.

A filter autodeleting isn't going to solve the main issue which is you don't have enough spam emails trained, so they're evaluating as being good. I would just keep training MailWasher (which an auto-delete filter won't do), and it won't be long before it works fine.

In this case it will.
A friend of my daughter signed her up to a dating site.
She has tried to get off their mailing list but that hasn't happened yet.

Technically it's not spam so the blacklist is the right place for this.

Thanks

Once you ask nicely and they don't stop sending the messages they become unsolicited and are subject to spamcop.net reporting, have to do that in v6 for now though. :-)

I'd do a filter to find these instead of the blacklist, I have a handy filter called "Do Not Want" which awards -200 points and that gets all the messages that hit it sent off to spamcop.net.

I had the blacklist setup in the old program to expire after 60 days (gotta give the bastards a chance).
That was my cue to send a nastygram if I was still getting email from them.
I just rebuilt my computer so don't have v6 available anymore.
I read in another post that reporting is coming so until then I'll just do it this way.

Thanks
