Rating System

Mon Aug 16, 2010 4:00 am

In Help/Quick Overview, it constantly refers to rating scores for the various filters that go from +1 and +200, -1 and -200, etc.
However, unless I missed it, I see nothing that tells me the effect of increasing or decreasing the values. If I change the +200 to a lower value, what is the effect on the particular email. The same goes for changing from -200 to -50. Can anyone help me with this?

Yes I did. It talks about being outside the range. What does this mean? Maybe I missed it, but does it mean higher or lower? and how does this affect the email?'

The Total rating for a message is the mathematical sum of the values for Bayesian, Friends List, Black List, Origin of Spam and Filters. You can observe the values assigned by right clicking on a message and select Show Evaluation Details and see the overall rating. You can also enable the columns designated Total and Bayesian to see a display of those two values for all messages in the grid without opening the Side Panel. I run with the Side Panel displayed on the RH side in the narrow version so that when I highlight a message I can get an immediate visualization of which tools are contributing.

OK, I understand that part. Unfortunately, when I went to Recycle Bin to Restore a few emails so I could set up the side bar, when I chose any email and clicked on Restore, nothing would restore. Can you help me with that situation?
Thanks

First you do not need to Restore the message to observer the evaluation details the same process works in the Recycle Bin.

RE: Restore It may be your account settings for Outgoing are incorrect or that the ISP is rejecting the messages. Restore first attempts to use the same account that the message came in from. If that fails then it attempts to use the Fallback Account setting. If you don't find the problems with your account settings then I suggest that you go to Help, Send Support Logs. Add a brief description of the problem, reference this Topic and put Chris in the ticket.
