Is this normal or a bug?
See attached.
Can't seem to be able to reproduce it, but 90% of the time when I open the GUI from desktop shortcut or system tray, the top band of what should be transparent "aero" background appears opaque dark blue.
Bottom is always "correct"/"normal"..
Nothing peculiar about my display settings.
Brand-new, clean install of MWP2010, otherwise working fine.
Seems to be happening ONLY on the Win7/64 DT, not on the Win7/32 laptop.
Bug?

Re: Dsiplay "bug" - Win7/64 aero?
There is a known bug that if an application forces Windows 7/Vista in to basic theme MWP will not go back, when the application that caused the switch ends, to aero unless restarted.

Re: Dsiplay "bug" - Win7/64 aero?
We've fixed this for the next release, it's not perfect as it increases 4 pixels in size every time it shifts back to Aero, but it's better than what it does now

OK, thanks.
WOW! I actually found a bug in a program!
Not being very tech savvy and being nearly computer illiterate, that's really quite a feat.
I thought I was going bonkers, esp after having to restore my DT to a factory image yesterday (don't ask!!!), so I was completely exhausted when I posted this AM.....
Speaking of illiterate, perhaps I can learn to speel or tipe better, vis-a-vis my subject line!
Much obliged -- obviously this is just cosmetic, so it's not a huge problem.

EDIT:
Oopsy ... almost forgot to ask. For a not so tech savy person, how did you manage to include the piccie with email removed (jagged edges) in your post. I've been dying to include pics of stuff (worth a thousand words) but have not yet figured it out. It's on my "things to do" list (next to cure cancer) ... but I gotta know

Re: Dsiplay "bug" - Win7/64 aero?
Hi, mcullet:
The picture?
Well, first I took a Polaroid of my computer screen, then I used tracing paper and a mimeograph machine to make a new copy, and then I got out my pinking shears from my sewing basket, and a couple of red magic markers.
Once I had it done up nice and pretty, I sent it through that system of tubes (I think it's called the "infernet" or something?) to Oz (or is it NZ?).
And, voila!
Actually, it's a screen capture program that is totally awesome.
I'm an educator, so, though I barely scratch the surface of its capabilities, I find it indispensable...
At the risk of violating forum etiquette, it's called Snagit, from techsmith.com.
It's not free, but it's worth every penny in my line of endeavor.
They also publish some other excellent software products...
See ya,
MM
