What's the likely cause of the "Check for updates" process just sitting there and not getting a response from the NZ servers? The popup eventually complains that a connection can't be made and gives up, although there's no squeak from the firewall (Net Defense) to point out that something wants out... All the obvious MWP and MWPApp entries are in the firewall, so I'm open to suggestions,
thanks,
Chris M

Re: "Check for updates" question
It's just standard HTTP traffic to firetrust.com so it's possible you have some kind of web filtration preventing this ?
I assume you can view this just fine in your browser ? http://www.firetrust.com/sites/firetrus ... pdates.txt

Re: "Check for updates" question
You could also try setting the Updater.exe to have proper internet access through NetDefense in case it isn't alerting for some reason, you can find the folder MailWasher uses in Settings >> General >> Updates...

Just checked; updater.exe has full access as far as the firewall is concerned. There's two entries for it, mind you. One for 'All users' and one for me...

Accessing the http://www.firetrust.com/sites/firetrus ... pdates.txt was all OK in your browser ?
Re: "Check for updates" question
Yeah, we'd been having some odd permissions issues so we've put the updaters in the User App Data folders.chrisrm wrote:Just checked; updater.exe has full access as far as the firewall is concerned. There's two entries for it, mind you. One for 'All users' and one for me...
