Default Mail Check

Thu Sep 02, 2010 5:18 am

And now for something really serious.

The program isn't performing the Default mail check at the required interval. I only noticed just before when I looked at the screen and it said 'Default mail last checked 1 hr and 4 mins ago'

However I also noticed at the bottom left of the screen there is a blue bar and the message 'Evaluating Message 17 of 17' that still seems to be scanning something.

What's happening?

(This time I'm NOT checking the 'Notify me' box)

Check the error log. I find that 90% of the time this is a ISP/Mail server problem stopping MWP from completing :(

Fire the logs off to RD: Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter chris as the Ticket Number >> Send Logs... and put a link to this thread in the desription.

A restart of MWP usually clears the problem.

The logs were very useful.

Code: Select all

09-01-2010 19:05:11.504	Error	MWPfetch::FetchThread() Unknown error
:scratch

Can you enable Log Protocol under the Help Menu, does the Yahoo account work at all or always stall like this ?

Don't you just love messages like that!
I went back to 6.5.4 to get all my mail with no problems.
I shutdown the machine overnight (I'm in the UK) and started up this morning. It seemed a bit slow to appear, but it did.
So far, it seems to be working correctly, and I hope this will continue.
I think I have to leave it alone to collect more email and see if it still misbehaves.
I'll keep you informed, though it might take a day or so, so don't close the case just yet.

While we're at it, where are the accounts, white and black lists stored in the new version?

I sure do love those kinds of errors :)

Under Help >> User Files >> Accounts are in Accounts.xml and the Friends/Blacklist is in the MWP.db3 file in the cache subfolder.
