Blacklist not working after update to V15

I have deleted the messages now so, as you say blacklisting is not working in V15 I will just bear with it until the release of the next version.

Found I had not deleted them after all so have just emailed the headers and a graphic showing it listed as a friend.

I must have misunderstood what you were trying to say was the issue. This should have been marked by one of your filters ?

I was saying that an email which was marked "friend" had been placed in the Recycle Bin automatically and not manually by me showing that there was a problem with the friends list filter as well as the others we have been discussing.

Can I get the beta V16? The topic with the blackslist is very important for me. Therefore I have purchase Mailwasher.

You would not want it as it has worse problem than the blacklist, to get BL working revert back to v1.0.10 as this is will provide the least problems. I have reverted back to v1.0.10 from v1.0.15 in the past with no problems, YMMV.

Note: Reverting back to an earlier version of MWP may require you to completely uninstall and delete ALL MWP user data.

With a feature as important as the Blacklist not working, Firetrust should release a V16 just fixing this problem, then follow with V17 with the other stuff!

No, but I'll probably post 18 when we have it later today. There were some other delete quirks where messages would/wounld't be marked for delete in a way that's unexpected, that could easily lead to deleting emails you wanted to keep.

I am having emails from those on my friends list sent to the recycle bin. They are even annotated as friend in the Recycle bin listing.

The evaluation shows Analysis -145, Friends list +80, overall -65 so it goes to the Recycle Bin. Surely if someone is on your friends list it should NEVER end up in the Recycle Bin no matter how much it evaluates as Spam. If this is not so then eventually an important email from a friend is going to get deleted. If the evaluation score controls whether it goes to the Recycle Bin or not then surely it should have Friends points score which ensures it goes into the good area ie +250.

I am also still having the same problems with the "not to me filter" where it sends emails which are addressed to me on one of my several accounts to the Recycle Bin marked as "Not to me". I have now made this inactive as it is unreliable.

Seems as though there are still a few teething problems with the new version 19.

If your friends email address is hacked by a spammer then you cannot trust that the emails from that friends are good. MWP2010's Spam totals are the way it tries to help identify when this happens. Teaching MWP will help in the long term.

If you cannot wait to teach MWP then, you can create a filter with "Spamtool rules" or change the: Settings >> Spam tools >> Spam ratings to make friends more likely to give a good total spam score.

Check to make sure that each of your addresses (including any variations) are in a separate rule for To: CC: and BCC and that you have checked "All". Also the Filter value will only be one part of the total evaluation process. Watch the side panel to help understand which tools are doing what. Also you can manage what role the Filter plays with regard to the Deletion marking. The relative placement of the Filter in the list also determines the evaluation priority. The first filter to match stop all further filter checking.

Yes I understand what you say however to my mind a friend is a friend and I would rather a spammer faked it and I received it more than a true friends email got deleted.

I have now upped friends to +200 so maybe that will help somewhat. Thanks for the advice however.

If you create a filter you can set this to "Never delete" and add another +200 to the score

This would not be my preferred solution but you have the ability if you want.
