I need to exit and reopen for emails to be checked

Tue Aug 24, 2010 2:08 am

I have installed the new Mailwasher Pro on my laptop, which I share with my wife. I have loaded it on both our profiles. On both logins MW seems to work when we first login, but then will not find any mails unless we exit and re-open mailwasher. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a known solution? I am running Vista on the laptop and the previous version of Mailwasher Pro worked fine for both of us (though I did have an initial issue with Kaspersky).

Do you Log Off or Switch User when you move between the two accounts ?

If you send me the logs I can take a look, go Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter chris as the Ticket Number >> Send Logs.

Some interesting errors in those logs.

Code: Select all

08-23-2010 12:01:07.417	Info	S: -ERR [SYS/PERM] Could not read message file
08-23-2010 12:01:07.417	Error	POPservice::PipelineMsg - +OK Failed... -ERR [SYS/PERM] Could not read message file
So basically the server is saying MailWasher can't have the email.....

I think we'd want to be sure all that's resolved before any of the user switching, as if that's not working right it might throw us off track.

First thing to try would be to disable PIPELINING, you can do that under Settings >> Accounts >> Incoming >> Advanced >> you'll see it there at the bottom, you want to disable it for Checking Mail.

Should that not work, I note that another F2S user had a similiar issue where F2S indicated a corrupt junk message broke things and they couldn't download any emails.

If you logon to the WebMail interface you could look for the junk emails and try clearing those manually and see if that improves things at all.

What you could also do is switch to the Wifes account and send me the logs again, as the logs sent are per user account.

Hi,

I've disabled the pipeline, but now Outlook won't send/receive - please see attached screenshot.

I'm also now getting a warning triangle next to settings and "unknown error"...

Sure thing. Once you've contacted them to get that sorted let us know and we can come back to the main problem.

Latest update - have reset the pipeline checkbox and all is working ok again. There are 5 "old" emails that refuse to be deleted from my webmail inbox so have asked my ISP to do this. I will then retry removing the pipeline checkbox, but it works at the moment (at least when I'm logged in)...

Great. I don't think PIPELINING is related anymore, I think that these bad messages are what's stopping things from working normally.

Hi, ok my ISP has finally got its act together and removed my errant emails. However, now when my wife tries to load Mailwasher it says it can't open and windows goes searching for a solution. I had the same issue when i tried to load mine a few days ago after my wife had used it successfully on her login - very strange!

You might want to check the logs from the security software. It may have done a scan and disabled MWP. Try going to the Control Panel and Uninstall MWP and when it ask do a Save Settings. Then download a copy form the first topic in this forum and reinstall.
