I removed MW Pro 2010 and went back to MW 6.5.4 (see earlier post). Can I use the First Alert license that is included with my newly-purchased MS Pro 2010 license with Mailwasher 6.5.4? If so, how? MW 6.5.4 requires an account number and password.

Don't give up on 2010, it keeps getting better and since you can run it and v6 together it is no problem to do most of your work in v6 and give 2010 a look from time to time and let Firetrust know what you think of their progress. If all the unhappy people quit the Firetrust folks won't be getting the reports they need to be aware of stuff that needs fixed.
I am not a Firetrust employee just a MW user.
