Well, 1.0.27 seems a bit faster than the last release, so I'm giving it another go.
But I have a problem with the way the new UI works, this may be a bug or a "feature", the scenario is this ....
-- I download a bunch of mails with MWP, some are marked for deletion, some good.
-- I hit the "wash" button, all the spam is deleted, MWP closes, Thunderbird starts and loads the good mails.
-- Sometime later I re-open MWP, all the previous good mails are still on display.
-- I'm half asleep (this is normal) and think "Aha, bunch of new mails" and hit the "wash" button.
-- MWP instantly closes, Thunderbird starts up and downloads a whole bunch of new spam that I then have to sift through by hand.
In 6.5.4, the "Wash" button only launched Thunderbird when there were new good mails to be downloaded. I think it should work like this again. (to protect the innocent!).
Maybe all it needs to do is clear the grid (And therefore disable the "Wash" button) whenever Thunderbird has been launched.

Never hit a Wash without first doing a Check Mail even after you have finished the review of the Incomings.
Re: "Issue" with new UI
MWP 2010 like it's predecessor will only clear the grid when: A new Check Mail is initiated either manually or automatically according to the user settings and the messages previously washed are removed from the server by your email client. If your email client is configured to leave the messages on the server then MWP will continue to display them until they are removed.alanwsg wrote:Well, 1.0.27 seems a bit faster than the last release, so I'm giving it another go.

Ah yes, I guess that's the solution.Sidewinder wrote: Never hit a Wash without first doing a Check Mail even after you have finished the review of the Incomings.

Re: "Issue" with new UI
Actually the old MailWasher should launch the mail program so long as there are emails in the list, at least that's what it's doing for me. It's when you delete all emails showing so it effectively empties the list when MailWasher, both old and new, shouldn't launch the email program.
Not having ThunderBird download by default would be the most obvious protection against this, though it does mean that extra click in ThunderBird to retrieve the email.

Re: "Issue" with new UI
MWP2010 just seems a bit more "user-hostile" than 6.5.4, it lets you make a mistake by accidentally downloading spam into your Email client rather than actively preventing you doing something silly by not calling Thunderbird unless there are new good mails waiting.
Surely that would be a more sensible way for it to work, what reason is there to run Thunderbird unless there are new good mails waiting?

Well I just tried on the old version, and that does the same, so I don't think it's fair to say this version is any more hostile than any other.
