It now works using the new "SpamToolSettings.xml" file.
Thanks

Re: Crashing as it checks for spam
I updated the other day and all was good then I updated Windows and checked the mail all was good I went back into the office to check the mail and mailwasher was not loaded. I checked the Icon I just had to put back on the taskbar (why it was not there I have no idea) and it loads the mail then crashes.

Re: Crashing as it checks for spam
It took a bit but i managed to get it to stop and disabled firstalert, that seems to have helped.gingbat wrote: ↑Sat Sep 02, 2023 2:13 pmOK, can you please try disabling Firstalert, as we've noticed a few users having issues with this:
(when MW starts, click Stop, to stop the mail check first)
Settings>>Spam Tools>>Firstalert, uncheck, "Use Firstalert" and click Save.
If no better, disable any servers listed under Settings>>Spam Tools>>Origin of Spam, click Save.
Let me know if either helps?

Thanks Yougingbat wrote: ↑Sat Sep 02, 2023 2:22 pmNOTE: if you cannot do the above because MW crashes before you can stop the mail check, try this.....
Go to Start, type run (then click the Run file so it runs) then in the ‘Open:’ box type (or copy / paste):
%AppData%\Firetrust\MailWasher
Rename the current "SpamToolSettings.xml" file to "SpamToolSettingsOLD.xml" (or remove it).
Then move the attached one into the same folder.
Start MWpro.

Great, good to hear that is working for now, and yes, sorry about this all, hardware issue on our end causing unexpected results in MWPro, should have it fully resolved early next week....

Re: Crashing as it checks for spam
Mailwasher now works after renaming SpamToolSettings.xml as SpamToolSettingsOLD.xml. At some point when this issue is resolved, will I be able (or need to) restore the original 'SpamToolSettings.xml'?

Re: Crashing as it checks for spam
Add me to the list of Sept. 2, 2023 crash victims. I would implement fixes suggested but MW shuts down even if I hit the stop sign mid-check. Can't get to settings. All started today in ernest. Yesterday I had to start MW manually after it stopped working at startup . Reboots and such don't work.

Yes, it'll resolve once we get the issue sorted this end, re-enable Firstalert in about a week and it should be all go... cheers!
