We added some extra logging for this, can I ask you go Help >> User Files >> close MailWasher >> in the folder you opened delete the Logs subfolder >> start MailWasher then move/try to move it across to the second screen, also make an attempt to resize it >> then go Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter chris as the Ticket Number >> Send Logs.

Ok done as (i think you wanted) in the above you said GO help>>user files>>close mailwasher ---- that didn't make sense..so went Help>>Userfiles the delete the log folder..close Mailwaher restart, move (try to resize) and then send Support logs----which I've done, if you need anything else then let me know .

Yup perfect. If I recall we had an early bug where the screen position being sent back could be unusually large....30,000+ etc...which on a resolution of 1920x1200 isn't ideal :)

So we placed in some protection where we sanitised the values if they were too large, however in this case we didn't take into account negative screen position, so -1920 which is what's being saved, but then MailWasher resets.

I don't know if this will cause the resize problem, however it seems likely, so we'll fix this up and see how we go from there.

Rusticdog;
Correct. I just "grab" the top border of MWP screen and drag to my secondary monitor. Once I let it go, it's stuck there. Only thing I can do is minimize or close.
Now an interesting question. My secondary monitor is to the LEFT of my main monitor. You say you have multi monitors and do not have the un-movable window issue. Where is your secondary oriented from your main ? Left or right ?

Starting to "grab at straws here". :)

Yeah I think mine is the same. Feel free to straw grab though, it's a crucial part of our bug fix process :thumbsup

FREAKY!!!

Check this out.
I altered my secondary monitors position relative to my main monitor. The 2'nd is physically to the LEFT of my main monitor, but I adjusted the properties to say it's on the RIGHT.

Now move & resize work just fine.

?????? WTF ???????

Why does the 2'nd monitors "relative position" on the right work & not the left ???????????????????????????

This is not the case for me. I'm also having problem with the columns staying in the size location that i set them at. I also can't get the sort order to put an account at the top and then all delete items at the bottom. It tends to separate the accounts

When you click on the Account Header to sort it keep the shift key held down then go the delete column and click until you get the sort that you want.

You can also Go to Quick Display and enable Group Headers, Drag the Account column to the Header and then set up your sort as above. Once you are happy with what you have you can go back to Quick Display and untick the box and what you have set up will hold.

When you get everything set up and sorted close MWP and then reopen.

Thanks Sidewinder, the grouping order worked, that's a new trick from the old version. I'm still having the issue where i'll adjust the size of the group let's say the subject line and it keeps expanding. Every time i open the program I have to scroll left and right to see what email it's from and if it's got an attachment.

Where do you have your preview pane located or are you using the pop out?

I believe that there is an open issue with the provider of the grid software regarding the growing columns. What I do is set the preview pane at the bottom, the side panel on the LH side and the work the column widths carefully until the horizontal slider disappears and the close and reopen. The problem has something to do with the H slider.

I'm not using preview pane.

I do hope there is a ticket.

Now here's the oddity, and i'll make this go along with the 2nd monitor issue.

Last night after i closed the program i reopened it and left it on my main monitor. I adjusted the grid delete a couple of e-mails then closed it. This morning i opened the program and the grid is where i left it.
So i moved the program to the 2nd monitor and the grid opened up again. I closed the program and opened it back to the main monitor with the grid messed up. so i adjusted it again, closed the program and reopened it, and look main monitor with the grid where i left it.....

Looks like the grid is also part of the issue we are having with the 2nd monitor as well.

OK, we think we have this sorted and we now have a version that doesn't crash every time you open it O_o

The problem related to negative screen position which we didn't take into account, on all our screens in the office our main monitor was on the left, which starts the screen at 0,0. If however your main monitor is on the right, the left most position on the left monitor is e.g. -1920,0. MailWasher was a: ignoring negative values, and b: calculating the mouse position incorrectly by not taking into account negative numbers (which is why you couldn't resize). It was just bad luck that no-one in the office had their main monitor set to the one on the right, otherwise we would have picked this up 2 years ago.

This is still beta, you can try it out if you like, or wait....there's always some inherent risk with betas

There is no requirement to uninstall the old version, it will install fine over the top.
