Thanks for the link.
I downloaded and installed this version, shut down my PC then after awhile turned it back on. I hope the log files I sent help.
Just for your information the same problems still exist.
Namely:- The black screen on load up (lasts for 1-2 secs; other people have reported this elsewhere.)
I still cannot open the registration window.
Good luck
Regards,
FC

Re: Cannot Register new Version of MW in Win XP
Ah yup, got it. Basically MW doesn't know when it's installed and there's no protection around this to cater. Why that makes the Registration screen fail to load...I dunno, but it'll be an easy fix.

Re: Cannot Register new Version of MW in Win XP
Is it possible that MW is conflicting with a program or a piece of software or hardware loaded on my desktop (Win XP) that I don't have on my laptop (Vista)? If so how could find out?
Thanks for all your help and patience. I'll await the fix.

Re: Cannot Register new Version of MW in Win XP
Possible, when you install the date is hashed and written to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Firetrust\MailWasherPro on a 64bit machine it would be HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Firetrust\MailWasherPro
If you click Start >> in the run area type REGEDIT and hit ENTER >> then in the Windows Registry Editor on the left navigate to the appropriate location above >> assuming it actually exists then on the left make sure MailWasherPro is highlighted, click on File >> Export >> give the file a name and save location >> click Save.
Then if you can Zip and email me the registry key to above mentioned email address, will check it out.

As the whole registry is huge I have emailed you a screen shot called FC Registry.jpg hopefully showing there is no entry.
If you you would like to see the whole registry file it zips to 9.4 mbs. I'll email it to you if you think it would help. Please let me know.
Kind regards,
FC
Re: Cannot Register new Version of MW in Win XP
I checked my registry as requested and found no entry for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Firetrust\MailWasherPro or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Firetrust\MailWasherPro (My XP is 32 bit)rusticdog wrote:Possible, when you install the date is hashed and written to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Firetrust\MailWasherPro on a 64bit machine it would be HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Firetrust\MailWasherPro

No that's fine, it was only if those entries existed then I would have liked to see them. Emailing the full Registry (as well as being massive) would also put personal information at considerable risk too.
Any way, the missing registry entry explains everything, so we'll get this fixed up

Re: Cannot Register new Version of MW in Win XP
Just updated to version 1.0.15 The registration window now opens but there is a problem when I input my activation code. The error message reads "Unknown error occurred during activation" My email receipt for my activation codes is "number Firetrust Limited #901739731" I tried both activation codes just to see if I got the same error message or had used the code already assigned to my laptop but I got the same error message.
