You could use an Autoit programming script and have it add a delay on checking the accounts until the feature gets built into MW. Some users have been working on a script for Outlook, not sure how it is working though.

Interesting problem (no pun intended) - will follow out of interest.

Not sure if this helps or confuses the situation, but I had something similar happen on occasion with MWP 6.xx.

Turns out it was my ISP (BIGPOND - Australia). Their tech support was ever so helpful (not). I moved all emails on the server into a temp holding folder (using a browser) and then returned them one at a time. Eventually I located one email that triggered the problem and although I looked carefully at the code, buggered if I could tell what was wrong. I killed it via the browser and all was well in the world again.

May not have anything at all to do with your problem - but then ... maybe???

Good luck.

Another thought, if your ISP is using a multiple server pool if you switch to using the IP address of one of their servers instead of the pooled name you'd always get the same mail server when you connected.

Gosh we're getting tricky now. I'd personally just wait a few seconds ;)

I think though this is happening more than it used to, so perhaps the older version of MailWasher already had a slight delay imposed.

Waiting definitely works. I still have MWP opening Outlook but Send/Receive is not automatic. If I wait about 30 seconds to receive the problem clears up.

I'm going to check my mail servers and see if for some reason they are not allowing immediate deletion.

Thanks for everyone's help and input.

UPDATE...
At the same time I was having this problem, I was also having a problem with OL2010 not sending everything in my outbox. If the mail information shown in the Outbox was not in italics, it wouldn't leave.

Somewhere in an Outlook forum, I read where the problem might have been with an AVG Free add-in.

I went into Outlook and on the 'File' tab clicked 'Options' and then 'Add-Ins' which listed all the active Outlook add-ins. By clicking 'Go' at the bottom of the dialog box I was allowed to disable the AVG Free add-in. This seems to have fixed not only the outbox program but also the problem with MW not deleting all my unwanted emails.

Does AVG have the facility to ignore certain processes ? If so, I'd tell it to ignore MailWasherPro.exe and MailWasherProApp.exe

The other alternative, and my usual setup, is I typically always disable any AntiVirus email scanner, the Resident scanner keeps you protected from a virus firing.
