Load optimization is on the FT to be completed list. Some of what you are seeing is related to .Net and Presentation fonts (both MS products).

Click on one message in the grid to cause focus and then CTRL A.
quatlo757 wrote:I could live with that and possibly the slow program loading times, but my XP Pro machine started crashing with the blue screen of death and some sort of dump message referring to recently installed programs. While the blue screen crash may not be a MW 2010 issue, it didn't happen until the upgrade, and no other new programs have been installed.
Running XP on my DT and not having any BSOD issues.

Speaking from experience with the new version it is head and shoulders above the old version with additional functionality on the list to be completed. The technology being used is far better at keeping up with the spammers.

Since the v6 and 2010 versions don't share program names, file or data locations or registry entries there is no conflict between them and both can be running at the same time with no time.

The only possibility of a conflict is if you chose to install them both into the same directory rather than the one they default to.

Why would anyone run V6 and V2010 side by side? All they do is filter e-mail. Pick your favorite.

Folks find reasons to run both, doing it depends on when and why of course. For most folks not doing reporting or extensive filtering 2010 does all that is needed.

Initially running both makes it easy to copy your filters and other settings across and make/check any tweaks they need to work the same under 2010.

Once past that you can run v6 to do spamcop or other reporting and let 2010 deal with the deletions while it is building up your learning and you are adjusting all the new settings to where you are happy with them.

Once you are close to happy with your 2010 settings and training you can check and wash in 2010 and then give the accounts a second check in v6 to see if you have anything you missed in your 2010 setup.

My e-mails aren't that complicated that I have to check them twice. If MW disappeared I could probably avoid spam without it just using common sense. MW is a convenience to make it easier. So one version is enough for me. ;)

Thanks for your responses. Wasn't running both old and new at the same time, only MWP 2010. Had not uninstalled the old version so the new version could gather existing settings. Am now back to old version with no more BSOD issues after MWP2010 was uninstalled. Next move is to request a refund under the 90 day money back policy.

I was wondering how many refunds there have been to date. Perhaps a one time price for the V2010 with an elective say $10 if you want updates and support for a year would fix that. :scratch

Longtime enthusiastic user (ten years). I just upgraded to MWPRO and have a question: How does one import addresses in one's email account to the MW Friends List?

I go under the Spam Tools Tab ---> Friends List Tab ----> Import........and absolutely nothing happens. I suppose I could add each email individually. or wait for everyone in my address book to email me. It might take forever; but it's do-able.

Please, is there some way of accomplishing this more efficiently? My OS is Windows XP and my email carrier is Mozilla Thunderbird.

Thanks very much.

You had your old MailWasher still installed ? It really should have picked up at least all the entries from that file. If you have the old MailWasher still installed, under Help >> About >> what's the location listed for your data files ?

Hi everyone, new customer here.

Quick question: Is there a way to change the GUI font? I'm on xp sp3 and it looks like Mailwasher entire gui is in clear-type. I find it very blurry and difficult for my eyes, but I haven't been able to find a way to change this in the prefs.

/edit:

Suggestion: I'd love to be able to hide the "Recycle Bin" tab from the top. It's too easy for anyone jumping on my computer to see all my previously deleted email. Better yet, keeping the tab would be fine if it could be password protected (even tho the recycled emails are probably in a non-encrypted file in the system user directory...this would still hide them from most curious eyes.)

Settings, General, Application - Pull down arrow there.
Other users with blurr issues were resolved by updating their video drivers.

Thanks for the suggestion but no luck. I uninstalled all Ati catalyst and driver software and reinstalled the latest version of each, but Mailwasher is still cleartype. I tried 'default', 'arial', and 'verdona'. I also tried changing my desktop font, which was 'trebuchet ms' to something else, as well as changed the desktop font size, but nothing took Mailwasher out of cleartype display.

/edit:
n/m, I see via search others have already brought this up.

The hide the recycle tab might prove handy, we can hide the error tab now, try putting it in as a suggestion: http://suggest.firetrust.com/

Create an account that matches your account here on the forums and it will be easy to keep straight.

Submitted, thanks.

/edit: Fwiw, I'd be in favor of a password-protected option, so that a user doesn't have to go into the prefs each time to display it, then review what they wanted, and then go back into prefs to hide it again when they're finished.

I agree. I've downloaded the 2010 and it has been extremely slow and crashed at least once per day. I tried installing it on my wife's laptop (Windows 7) and never could get it to run. It wouldn't connect to use the registration key nor would it log in to her email server although the settings were correct. Frankly I would like to see a way to download the old version and stay there. You can keep the $10 because I have used it for years but this one isn't worth the hassle let alone the money.

By the way, I'm not a one post wonder - there were several when my learning files corrupted a few years back.
