1.11.0 will not install

Sat Mar 17, 2012 10:59 am

I downloaded the .exe on 3/16 at 1430 MST. The installation seemed to run OK, but I checked the "About" and it said I was still was running 1.8.0. I ran the install again and selected Repair, no errors but still 1.8.0. I even tried the Modify - again no errors but still 1.8.0. I have 2 desktops and had exactly the same errors on both! Can anyone help?

Go to Help, Check for Updates and see if it then does the update correctly.

If not then: Use the Control Panel, Programs, select MWP 2011 and Uninstall. Be sure to respond Yes when it ask if you want to Save Your Settings. Then run the file that you downloaded but make sure that it is not a prior download.

That DID work on both PC's (Win7 x64, Vista x32), go figure!?!?

Many thanks,

My guess is that is was somehow a busted install.

Whatever happened then did the damage that prevented the update from running.

Try downloading and installing manually from this link http://mailwasher2011.s3.amazonaws.com/ ... 032012.exe

Let me know if the same happens

I experienced the same problem as detailed above, even after running the exe the version remains 1.8.0

I'll uninstall now and run the upgrade to see what happens.

UPDATE: Yep that worked, used the update file to remove then reinstall kept the settings and all good now :)

I may have the same problem. I tried to upload the support logs but they won't send either.

Is there a manual way to send "support longs"?

Support Logs don't capture the install unfortunately. Maybe check out this post, shows how to create a full installer log file and might shed light on what's going wrong.
Try a direct install too, taking the autoupdater out will simplify things :)

That did not work. I was having this problem on two computers (desktop w/ Windows 7 and laptop w/ Vista). I tried again what Sidewinder suggested above (thanks Sidewinder) and it worked on the desktop. I'll report back when I get a chance to try it on the laptop.

I did what Sidewinder suggested on the laptop and it worked! :bow For some reason, I was unable to get the installer to work even while directly clicking on it. I would get an "access denied" warning, but after removing and reinstalling, it's all good. :thumbsup

I don't get it. Which is the latest version of mailwasher? 1.11 or 1.80?
