Token does not match the email address

Can't believe I'm the only one who has ever gotten this error, but nothing on a search. I was adding a new gmail account (I have a LOT of them already) when somewhere along that way it threw that error. It did present the auth screen, etc, and I logged in there, again, as usual, when it threw it. I was able to get past it, and the account is now there, but what caused this?

You may try navigating to
MWP >>---->
Help >>---->
User Files... >>----> (in the window that pops open)
Cache >>----> (delete the token/s corresponding to the affected e-mail address/es.)

I don't remember now, but this error either went away when I first asked, or I didn't use the account in question, but it just happened again with a different POP gmail account. Everything in the new one looks exactly like all the other gmail accounts in MWP v 7.11.5 now. There is no option at all for OAUTH.

No sorry, looks like something has changed recently. Programmers are in process of fixing that, in the interim you would need to disable OAUTH in MailWasher (Settings >> Accounts >> Incoming >> Advanced) and enable Less Secure Apps in GMail.

Interestingly, this go around, I completely killed the account in question, and added it back. I guess I'd missed the OAUTH param, but did disable it and it's working now. However, I agree with you on it being a relatively recent change, because at a quick look at several of my other gmail accounts, they all have OAUTH enabled. I can live with this
I should also note that I *HAVE* to have "less secure" set to on as my current email client requires it.

I just tried the update: - 2 problems:
After installing THe Help -About - Version is stil 7.11.0 (so Idon't know if I got the update installed or not)
Problem is still there - still get the same error message

OK, try first uninstalling MailWasher, be sure to opt to keep your data files when prompted. Once that's removed, check in the Control Panel >> Programs and Features >> be sure there is no listing for MailWasher there >> remove/uninstall if there is >> then run the installer again.

Thanks, short story - that fixed the problems.
Longer story: I had a second copy of MW on a differnt disk, and that is why I didn't get/see V 7.11.7. Deleted it, reinstalled MW, and things (as far as MW is concerned) are now working.

I have just encountered the 'token does not match the email address' problem and noticed in the forum that a fix is provided in V 7.11.7.
However my version, V 7.11.5 on checking for updates advises that it is up to date! Please would you advise?

It installs fine over the top and has a couple of other small fixes as well. We'll be putting a new version on the auto-updater soon with all these fixes.

WTF is this about? I just spent 2 hours of my life pulling my hair out with this and it's fixed in some top secret update? Why when I go to Help > Check for Updates it come back with NONE???
