Perflib errors

Wed Dec 30, 2015 1:23 am

When I log on Windows 10 the screen is black for about 10 sec and the eventlog looks like the perflib.jpg attachment. This is when Mailwasher (latest version) starts with Windows 10. When MailWasher does not start at the same time as Windows, there are no errors in the eventlog and Windows starts immediately. When I start MailWasher manually, all these perflib errors shows up again in the event log. Can I do something?

A quick search suggests that you should run the System File Checker if you are getting this error. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833 for instructions.

Three suggestions.
(1) Try a Repair option for Microsoft .NET
(2) Do an uninstall of MWP from the Control Panel. Respond Yes when asked if you want to Save User settings. Make sure that you don't have multiple calls for MWP in the Start Up Folder. Then reinstall MWP.
(3) If that fails, export a copy of your Settings to a Backup location. then I suggest using a copy of Revo Uninstaller (free) to clean out all vestiges of MWP. Then reinstall.

Make sure you have ADMIN rights when you do the Uninstall and Reinstall.

These are benign errors so won't hurt MW operations, but since Win8 when MW asks to get RAM and CPU usage for logging purposes, they can trigger these events. I think we'll just remove those details from the logging, it was early in MW development when this information was useful, but now, not so much.

Today it's probably not appropriate to make such queries as you mention?
