Gmail problem

Vodafone New Zealand has just announced it will not support Thunderbird after Nov. 2017 & recommends we use Gmail or Outlook! I have installed Gmail [& still have Thunderbird connected thru' MWP] but when i wash any unwanted mail it comes up on Gmail which never happened with Thunderbird. Please advise any solutions to this unwanted intrusion.

Is your GMail connected in MailWasher as POP or IMAP ? Under Settings >> Accounts >> select the Incoming tab >> it has this option at the top. Try changing it to the other >> Save.

If you haven't already (and if you prefer) you can setup your GMail account in ThunderBird as well, and have it operate in the same way as your previous Vodafone address.

No luck with IMAP. I will now try your other suggestion & thank you for your speedy response!

I can't setup a Gmail account in Thunderbird as T/B will be stopped at the end of November by Vodafone!

If i delete Thunderbird from MWP is there a sure way i can then get MWP to interrupt ALL incoming mail from bypassing MWP & instead going straight to Gmail?

Just to clarify here. Vodafone aren't stopping programs like ThunderBird, they're stopping providing the email services for their domains like @vodfone.co.nz @paradise.net.nz etc...

So your previous email address will simply stop working in all programs, ThunderBird, MailWasher etc...

There's nothing preventing you from using GMail in ThunderBird.
