Problems since running the Fall Creators Upgrade

Sat Oct 21, 2017 1:39 am

I ran the Fall Creators Update yesterday and now, while Mailwasher Pro runs and is there on my task bar I can't get into it. Has anyone found the same problem, and has anyone got a solution to getting in?

You might want to try downloading and installing the offline redistributable installer of Microsoft .NET Framework (latest build is 4.7.1 as of typing this post.)

After the installation is done, reboot your computer and report back.

I got a message saying I either had build 4.7.1 or later already installed. But I rebooted the computer and then I had problems with getting the computer to work properly. However I've just tried again and got in . However I still have the same problem. Mailwasher loads but if I click on the icon in the system tray it doesn't open a window for me. And I've tried alt-tab to get to the mailwasher window without success.

  1. Right click the MailWasher icon at the SysTray Notification Area >>----> Exit.
  2. Run Task Manager and terminate any MailWasher processes running in the background.
  3. Navigate to the C:\Users\YourProfileName\AppData\Roaming directory and backup the Firetrust folder to a different location.
  4. Navigate to the C:\Users\YourProfileName\AppData\Roaming\Firetrust\MailWasher directory and delete the Setting.Xml file.
  5. Run MailWasher.

Step 4 should be the startup.xml, not setting.xml

Thank you for your advice and getting back to me so quickly. It's all back to normal again.
