I bounce spam emails in the hope that I will get knocked off whatever lists although the spam keeps coming.
It turns out that when I click on bounce and whilst everything seems to indicate the spam email is being bounced it isn't. I have two domains (not on my ISP's server) plus my personal email account with my ISP. I sent an email from one of my domains to the other then bounced it back but never received the bounced email. Tried it the other way round, same result. I also tried with my personal email account, same thing. I know the (POP3) accounts are set up correctly because they work with outlook 2007 and the port numbers etc. are the same in both Outlook and Mailwasher Pro. Other than that Mailwasher Pro works OK.

The problem is spammers don't use their own email addresses. Instead, they "spoof" some other address in their emails that may or may not be a real address. In any case, the bounce does NOT go back to where you want it to so it is pointless for using to get your name removed from their lists.
Re: Bouncing
It is really a useless feature. It is only good for bouncing "legitimate" emails from your X, not for spam.I bounce spam emails in the hope that I will get knocked off whatever lists although the spam keeps coming.

Re: Bouncing
With respect that not the important thing. The point is it does not appear to bounce emails. Is this a fault or what?

Bouncing uses the SMTP protocol — not POP3.Quillan wrote:I know the (POP3) accounts are set up correctly because they work with outlook 2007 and the port numbers etc. are the same in both Outlook and Mailwasher Pro.

Re: Bouncing
Hi, I thought POP3 was a generic term for the type of mail system, perhaps I was wrong. Yes, of course, your right, for sending mail and the "Outgoing" setting i.e. smtp are set correctly, or should I say the same, as Outlook 2007 which has no problem sending emails. Thanks anyway for understanding my problem. Any further help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, I have no experience with AvaHost.net — nevertheless, you could check whether either of the following helps.
First, try with the Server Port Number at 465 (also, the sections highlighted red, need to be replaced with your own):—
If the above fails, try with the Server Port Number at 25 (also, the sections highlighted red, need to be replaced with your own):—

Re: Bouncing
Firstly, in order to avoid getting spammed — you may want to edit just the identifiable parts from your last post (if any.)
You could then retry Server Port Numbers 462, 25 (and 26) after disabling the SMTP server requires authentication option, as illustrated below:—
