After washing to remove spam, and marking up blacklist, bounce etc, my MW inbox displays messages from today, yesterday, last week, last month and all time. Every time I reboot PC it takes a long time to load all these message again.
After washing I download new messages to my pop client, but they stay on MW and I can't find a setting to remove old washed messages from the inbox. I don't mind keeping yesterday and last week, but don't need the other clutter. Does anyone know how to change the setting to not show old mails?

To ensure that mails deleted by your e-mail client are no longer listed in MWP, you can check out the graphical illustration of server settings for some of the more popular e-mail clients at the following links:—

Thank you for the reply. In fact my e-mail client does remove messages from server after 60 days. I am trying to figure out how to remove non-washed messages from MW in-box.

That is exactly the reason why you see the messages on MailWasher (until your e-mail client deletes them from the server.)VillaSampaguita wrote:In fact my e-mail client does remove messages from server after 60 days.

No in fact there are messages from up to one year ago in MW in-box. Silly question maybe, but does MW automatically delete mails from server (gmail etc) when they are deleted in MW?

Things get further complicated when using Gmail — all said and done, deleted mails could still make an appearance if misconfigured.

We seem to have a contradiction — either the 60-day retention period on your e-mail client is not working right or it has been setup for IMAP (instead of POP3.)VillaSampaguita wrote:In fact my e-mail client does remove messages from server after 60 days.
MailWasher deletes mails from the server and they stay deleted in case the e-mail client is configured for POP3 — however, IMAP protocols on the e-mail client would cause the mails deleted by MailWasher to reappear on the server (and, consequently on MailWasher.)VillaSampaguita wrote:Silly question maybe, but does MW automatically delete mails from server (gmail etc) when they are deleted in MW?

As mentioned on my previous post, there are other factors apart from POP3:—
Re: remove all time messages from inbox
You can post a screenshot of your Incoming tab if you wish (Settings >>----> Accounts >>----> Incoming >>----> Advanced) — ensure that you obfuscate/delete the part of your email ID before the @ symbol.VillaSampaguita wrote:Absolutely my e-mail client is configured for POP3

Re: remove all time messages from inbox
When I check settings / accounts / incoming i see that the "store cached mails" box is checked. Could this be the culprit?

First, login to your Gmail account to make all the changes as per the following illustration:—

Then, use the following POP3 configuration on MailWasher for Gmail — works best for me in terms of speed and accuracy:—
