Moving to a New Computer

Thu Jan 04, 2018 9:16 am

I have been running MW 7.11.5 on a windows 10 PC. I just installed the program on a new Win 10 machine and registered it. It imported my 5 email addresses from Thunderbird just fine but I now leaves all of my messages unmarked as good, spam, etc, How can I get the data regarding the mail classifications, friends list, blacklist, etc. from my old computer to my new computer?

In case the mail accounts on both the systems are exactly the same, you can use the following procedure:—
  1. Close your copies of MailWasher on both the systems — ensure that neither of them are running in the background as a process
  2. Navigate to C:\Users\YourProfile\AppData\Roaming on the new computer and copy the Firetrust folder to some other location (this would serve as insurance)
  3. Delete the C:\Users\YourProfile\AppData\Roaming\Firetrust directory on the new computer
  4. Copy the equivalent of the above Firetrust folder from your old computer to the new computer
  5. Once your new arrangement is to your satisfaction, you can delete your insurance (if you wish)
