Replacing Outlook

Sat Feb 24, 2018 9:18 am

I have been receiving grief over my continued use of Outlook 2003 as my mail server. I will mention that I only have one email account to check and it is a pop3 account. My email provider was stunned that 2003 still worked (WIndows 10, latest iteration) . Is there a mail handling program out there that I can replace 2003 with (and no, I won't be upgrading MS Office).
For all those that take the time to reply, thank you in advance.

Then your email provider is simply not informed. Even Outlook XP works with W10.

But that is not the problem. The problem is Microsoft is no longer providing any support for Office 2003 products, including Outlook 2003. In fact, that ended long ago as all support for Outlook 2007 ended last October too.

The problem is that means there will be no more security updates for your version of Outlook. And for that reason alone, you probably should look to upgrade.

If you are still using Office 2003 (Word, Excel, etc.) the same support and security issues arise. It is for that reason that I recently upgraded from Office 2007 to Microsoft Office Home and Business 2016 (this version includes Outlook 2016).

If you only have one email account, Windows 10 includes "Mail". Have you checked that out?
