MailWasher Free Stopped Downloading Emails

I have been using MW Free for several years and it has always worked great.
Recently, MW has stopped downloading emails. At first I was getting Unknown Error message.
Now it will check emails, find 26, but will only download one at a time. Each time I click check mail, it downloads another. It also takes several minutes to download the one email. It sits at, "found 26 messages (total 26)", then it finally changes to "downloading 3 of 26", and downloads one more, and so on.
I have unckecked Pipelining and Store cached emails. It has made no difference.
I uninstalled and reinstalled, it did not fix the issue.
Here is the error I get at times.
Description: An unknown error has occurred. MailWasher is unable to determine the cause of this error.
