When MailWasher deletes an email via IMAP, it flags the email for delete then issues the EXPUNGE command. That command tells the server to permanently delete all emails flagged for delete. MailWasher does this at the same time, so it gives the appearance of deleting from the mail server immediately. Some email clients for example only issue the EXPUNGE command when they are closed.

You can optionally set MailWasher to move emails you delete to another folder, instead of permanent deletion.

Yes, you can set MailWasher to check other subfolders.

Generally speaking the client won't matter too much as MailWasher works independently of client. You can set emClient to also not fetch emails as soon as they arrive, giving you the chance to view and delete all mails first in MailWasher and fetch the emails into the mail program as you need them.

Check out the 30 day trial, that'll give you a good understanding before you buy

Cheers

That should be fine as long as it's Windows.
