Hey,
I use the latest version of MW and as an email program Thunderbird on Windows 7.
The last few weeks I get a huge amount of spam in my email program immediately when it is open.
I do not see the spam in MW.
Why does MW not stop this spam?
Sincerely
Piet

Re: SPAM
Hi Piet
Check in ThunderBird under Tools >> Account Settings >> Server Settings >> there are three options you want unchecked.
Check for messages at startup.
Check for messages every xx minutes.
Allow immediate server notifications when new messages arrive.
Uncheck those, restart ThunderBird. Then when you want to bring in the mails, just hit Get Messages.
Thanks

Re: SPAM
That is odd, you can email me a screenshot of your ThunderBird settings for that account if you want, send through to forum@firetrust.com
I can do some digging in case there is a known issue as well.

Re: SPAM
OK thanks. Very odd the account is giving problems, as you say, your settings are correct.
Try first making sure ThunderBird is up to date, under Help >> About >> Check for Updates.
Also if you right click on the INBOX of the account that is still synchronising >> select Properties >> select Synchronisation >> check that it's not set for Offline use.
You could too try removing the account from ThunderBird, restart the program, then add the account back.

Did you remember to adjust those settings under Tools >> Account Settings >> Server Settings >> there are three options you want unchecked.PietKonings wrote:Hi,
I have removed all accounts and reinstalled.
The problem is now that Thunderbird does not download mail via MW.

Re: SPAM
Hi,
MW, loads the emails without any problems. Only when I open Thunserbird via MW do the emails not arrive.
Now I've placed a checkmark next to "Check for new messages on startup" and "Automatically download new messages".
Now the emails are coming in.
And there is no spam so far.
regards
Piet
