Re: Important notice for MailWasher and GMail accounts
@AjTeX - I was following what Gmail said to do. If you follow the above link and use the 16 digit password from Gmail in both your incoming and outgoing MW settings then it will work. I was originally following what Gmail said to do (use 16 digit password password for outgoing and your original password for incoming). Make sure for your incoming you include "@gmail.com" in your username and do NOT use "@gmail.com" in your outgoing.

Re: Important notice for MailWasher and GMail accounts
Using information here, I was finally able to get Outlook to download my gmail and to see it in Mailwasher - BUT - when I go to wash mail in Mailwasher or just clear it from Mailwasher, it also deletes ALL of it from my Outlook. I have looked over settings in both places and do not understand how to stop this. As long as this continues, I am unable to use Mailwasher which is a big disappointment. Anyone who can offer some help on this? It sure would be appreciated.

I hope Firetrust is going to come up with a fix because otherwise I shall sadly have to delete MailWasher Pro.
Please respond.

I created an app password for each of my gmail accounts and this one password works for all 3rd party apps you want to use from any source when accessing that gmail account; both mailwasher and 3rd party mail programs both on windows; mac and android. You have to use it for both retrieving AND sending email.
Unless Google changes the rules again to try and force users to use googles own app's of course; which is probably the reason why they did it in the first place.

Just a quick comment;AjTeX wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 1:18 amHi Thanks for this info... it worked perfectly for me, however would be great if Mailwasher updates this issue to work without this go-around.RogNor wrote: ↑Sat Mar 05, 2022 6:50 amThere is a work round for this, Link https://www.firetrust.com/products/mail ... quirements
I've also attached the PDF I was sent.

Thanks for that info.
As a very 'non-technie' computer user, I eventually eventually managed to get MailWasher working again.

Re: Important notice for MailWasher and GMail accounts
Thank you for this solution. I got fed-up with Google's ever-intrusive nonsense and have been locked out of my Gmail accounts for over a year. Your solution allowed me to delete the Gmail accounts from MW Pro and get all mails forwarded to standard POP accounts.anniefriday wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 11:52 pmFor any that are still struggling with this, I have an outlook.com address as well as a gmail.com address and set up gmail to forward my mail to outlook.com and have had no issues at all. https://support.google.com/mail/answer/10957?hl=en

Re: Important notice for MailWasher and GMail accounts
Yes, MWPro has always worked with gmail, however yes, google have decided to block all non email clients from accessing mail, and that includes MWPro.... (all versions) the only way around this is to use 2 step authentication and use an app password in MW, Nick has added this to our FAQ's recently here:
https://www.firetrust.com/products/mail ... quirements
There is a .pdf file of this process here if required:
https://1drv.ms/b/s!Ak8zLigJcntTgaUvZKg ... A?e=WHsvN8
Once you have enabled 2 step authentication and setup an app password, here's how to setup the account in MWPro:
Open MWPro and click, Settings>>Accounts>>Add Email Account, enter a name for the account and your Gmail email address, click Save.
On the Incoming tab enter your Gmail app password you created earlier and click Save again.

Re: Important notice for MailWasher and GMail accounts
Have been using version 7.12.25 without any OAUTH issues. I use 5 Gmail accounts. All use Gmail 2 step authentications.
Installed ver 7.12.139. Was prompted for a username, which I typed in. For the password, tried using the 2 step verification and the App password as suggested above. Also tried using the normal password for that Gmail account.
Neither of these worked. I get an error message "This App is blocked"
Should the current Gmail settings work with 7.12.139?

Have got a number of Gmail accounts running on the latest 7.12.139 βeta — all working fine . . . but, with app passwords & 2-Step verification (no OAuth.)
MailWasher Pro (βeta) | Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC (22H2) | The Bat! Professional (βeta) | Windows 10 Firewall Control (βeta) | ESET Endpoint Antivirus (βeta) | nVIDIA GeForce (GTX 1060) | WebView2 Runtime (118.0.2088.61) | .NET Framework (4.8.1)

Tried this with app password (16 digit password). Still no joy. Not sure where I am going wrong. Seems to work with ver 7.12.25 though. Do I need to generate new App passwords for all my Gmail accounts under MWPro beta 139?

Re: Important notice for MailWasher and GMail accounts
BTW, the 7.12.139 is a βeta — it's recommended to stick to the stable 7.12.125.
For me, the same (16-digit) app passwords which were generated prior to the 7.12.125 continue to work fine with the 7.12.139 βeta, as well — I'm using the POP3 protocol on all of my Gmail accounts, though . . . not IMAP.
For Gmail, the following settings float my boat — if it helps:—
