Out of bounds crashes and memory consumption +

Wed Jan 01, 2020 2:50 pm

ENVIRONMENT
Windows 10 Home v1909, OS bld v18363.535
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz
RAM 8.00 GB
64-bit OS
=========
MailWasher PRO v7.12.6 32-bit
Exp. 21 SEP 2020
=========
ISSUES

1. "Evaluating Message: xxxx of xxxx"
status line dwells... and must manually click the Stop link to be able to wash mail.

2. Still consumes quite a bit of memory and CPU time:
Mem. 110.7 MB
CPU time: 0:09:04

3. Crashes (and auto-closes) regularly with the usual nebulous "Out of bounds..." error.

Can the above vital issues please be addressed?
Thanks in advance!

Can you send me some logs for the evaluation and crashing. Go Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter a brief note like 'as per forum' >> in the Ticket Number field enter chris >> Send Logs >> reply back once sent, so I can check they arrived OK.

The memory use isn't too bad, a lot also depends on the volume of email and being a WPF application it will always be memory heavy compared to the older WinForms version. Windows manages the cleanup for unused memory well.
The logs might reveal some things that can be switched to get better performance, but with the large RAM you have I don't think it odd Windows is allocating that much.

Could not tell if MWP 7 actually sent the logs your way.
If not received, please let me know exactly how to find and send them.
Thanks! ~ Jefferson

All received OK, many thanks.

There's two crashes I can see. One can be fixed by right clicking on the Received column heading, uncheck the Group By Received option. This will no longer show the messages in groups, Today, Yesterday etc.. but you can still sort the emails to your preference.

The other looks to a crash in the rendering. So I would think first checking your graphics drivers are up to date

Then also repair the .NET framework on the machine using this utility, takes roughly 10 minutes

The account kalenentp is failing to logon with this error after the password is sent.
-ERR [AUTH] Authentication failed.
Under Settings >> Accounts >> Incoming >> check the password entered for this account is correct.

The webmaster tribal account has an email in the Inbox that MailWasher is not liking at all. The email is from Campmor has "Subject: It's been a while- We've missed you!"
If you can clear that message using either webmail or your email program that should stop the evaluation pausing.

Lastly, I note you have a couple of accounts with many messages. At present you are using POP to access the accounts which will load all Inbox emails.
You can switch to IMAP if you wish (your mail server looks to support this) under Settings >> Accounts >> Incoming >> change to IMAP at the top >> you can then click Advanced and set how many days of emails you wish to retrieve.
Also by default MailWasher will not load Read emails using IMAP, these are emails flagged as Read in your webmail or email program (if that also was using IMAP).
