Mail identified as Bad not being remembered

Maybe I don't understand how Mail Washer works. I have mail from some junk senders that I have tagged Bad multiple times, but they are not automatically tagged when new ones downloaded (i.e., blank not red or green) and some now get through to Thunderbird when I have not asked TB for a download (auto down is turned off).

You need to tag them as Spam/Good>> Wash Mail for your tagging to be saved, but that's pretty much it.
If future emails aren't being identified as spam/good, it may just mean that MailWasher needs some more learning. Early on MailWasher does pull back the authority of the learning, until it thinks it has enough data for the results to be valid. 100-200 emails is usually enough to start seeing results though.
