I have 4 separate email addresses with Testra (Australia). Three of the addresses hold the incoming emails in Mailwasher but the 4th goes through to Thunderbird. These emails don't display until I click "Get Messages/ Get all new messages".
In Thunderbird, I go to "Accounts/View settings for this account/Server Settings", the Server Type is POP Mail Server and Server Name is mail.bigpond.com ,.
In Mailwasher/Settings/Incoming, when I enter Server Type as POP3 and Server address as "mail.bigpond.com", when I click on "Save" I get the response in red "Failed to connect to server".
A couple of years ago, I received a message from Telstra that some of my email addresses would be IMAP. When I try IMAP in Mailwasher, I get the same error message. When I login to Telstra, and I go to "4 mailboxes" and click on "Manage", the 4 addresses are displayed but there is nothing to tell me which are POP3 and which are IMAP. The Live Chat" help service is useless.
Can anyone help me?

Re: Emails bypassing Mailwasher Pro
In ThunderBird go into Tools >> Account Settings >> select Server Settings on the left for the problem account >> uncheck
Check for new messages at startup
Check for new messages every xx minutes
and if present uncheck
Automatically download new messages
Restart ThunderBird.
That should fix the problem account automatically bringing in the new emails, and only do so when you activate a Get Messages.

Re: Emails bypassing Mailwasher Pro
Sorry, Rusty Dog. All those boxes were already unchecked. The problem is that emails to the rogue address never appear in Mailwasher. After I have edited the list of emails for the other 3 addresses and click Wash Mail, this starts up Thunderbird. I go through the Get Messages routine and then the emails for the rogue address plus the accepted emails to the other 3 addresses come through. Thus I am unable to have Mailwasher blacklist any emails for the rogue address.

Oh I see, so MailWasher isn't checking the account successfully.
Then in MailWasher, Settings >> Accounts >> try removing the problem account, then run the account wizard to import just this one account from ThunderBird. Hopefully that sets it up all working OK in MailWasher.

Re: Emails bypassing Mailwasher Pro
This has solved the problem. It is interesting that the password came up differently to what is in Thunderbird. I changed the password to that but still got the "Failed to connect" response. I then tried using the password for the primary account and this worked!
So now all seems OK. A est message I sent to the rogue account came up OK in Mailwasher and then came across to Thunderbird after I did the Get Messages routine.
Thanks
