On Tue 8th I installed the monthly Win10 updates (which included -
November 30, 2020-KB4586876 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10, version 20H2)
Everything seemed to be working OK
Today I got notified about MW mailwasher_pro_setup_7_12_48 which,
as always, I had to manually download and then admin installed (seemingly without issue). I have tried repeatedly opening MW but after about 10 seconds, it simply evaporates after having commenced downloading emails. Then I have tried opening MW as admin, repair reinstalling after freshly downloading mailwasher_pro_setup_7_12_48. All to no avail.
Now I have freshly downloaded the Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool, which I have run (slowly) and on its (standard?) recommendation, I have uninstalled / rebooted / reinstalled the above KB update. At each point I have tried to run WM, but after about 10 sec, it still evaporates.
