Store deleted email

Hi,

If I have store deleted emails set at 21 days (settings, general) and I have deleted email in the recycle bin greater than 30 days is it because stored cached email is enabled and it reads whats in the cache/crypto folder ?

If so if I un-tick stored cached email (as you've advised) would it delete the old cache/crypto emails greater than 21 days.

Hope this make sense.

No, those operate separately. The stored cache is just an internal caching system that MailWasher uses for speed gain. However it can add instability that we never quite resolved.

The emails showing in the bin, they were deleted over 30 days ago, or first received over 30 days ago ?

They should be cleaning up. MailWasher runs the Recycle Bin cleanup every 23 minutes and on exit. It will not run the cleanup if it's performing a Check or Wash Mail.

Assuming MailWasher is now operating without errors, I would wait till tomorrow and check again and see if those messages are gone.

There might be some more database shenanigans we need to look at

Hi,

Thanks for the information, the 23 minute routine has maybe answered some questions.

* I was checking for email every 30 minutes so it could be possible that the recycling routine is not clearing up as it should as when it runs (every 23 minutes unless doing something i.e checking/washing mail) the program is checking for email or washing mail. I have now increased the checking for email to every 50 minutes to see how things change.

* I have also now added don't check email between 1.13 and 6.13am to allow extra time for the recycle routine to run, this could be a issue for some people in different time zones checking email as they see more spam mail but it's something that can be tweaked.

The emails where first deleted today and received in the past. Hopefully the tweaks today will help clear old stuff out.
Due to the fact recycle bin shows no period in between last 30 days and all time it would take ages for mine to load the whole recycle bin. Maybe in a future build 60days/90days is added.

For now I suggest I leave it alone for a few days to give it time to run the recycle routine and see what happens.

What do you think ?

Thanks for all the support and understanding... Phil

Yeah sounds good.

Now if I recall correct, the deleted emails are tracked from deletion date. So MailWasher will store the email 21 days from deletion.

Will add to the list to get 30 and 60 days into the Recycle Bin.
