I delete emails in MW, but they are not deleted in Outlook 2019. My ISP is Virgin Media.

I can delete emails in MW, however they still appear in Outlook 2019. This goes for all deleted emails including bounced emails. Virgin media uses Imap however it also recognises pop3. I have tried to setup outlook to use pop3 with no success!. MW can use pop3 and communicate with Virgin Media exchange server! Can anyone help?

From what you describe MailWasher needs to be setup as IMAP account.


With MailWasher set to IMAP >> if you delete a message in MailWasher, then in Outlook click the Send/Receive tab and click Send/Receive All Folders >> does the email then disappear from the Outlook Inbox ?

Sorry, no it doesn't! I have now switched both back to Imap.

In Outlook, if you click on File >> click the Account Settings button >> click Account Settings in the drop down. Does it list your Virgin Account as Exchange or IMAP in the Type column ?
