Only want to see NEW mails?

Sat Oct 03, 2020 6:50 pm

After updating to 7.12.38 I see old mails and I ONLY want to see the new and latest. It's frustrating to see mails from Yesterday and Last week but can't figure out to ONLY see the new.

I download my mails from MailWasherPro to Thunderbird and put these mails in different folders and have done this for many years. Can any one help, please?

I use Firefox 81.0.1 on Windows 10 PC.

If you use IMAP in MailWasher to access the account (Settings >> Accounts >> Incoming) >> then under Advanced you can set MailWashe rto only download Unread messages from the last xx days.

Yeah all the older versions are here
https://www.firetrust.com/products/mail ... change-log

But we haven't made any changes in MailWasher relevant to this. So the reason will be something else.

If you move a message in ThunderBird to another folder, then do another Check Mail in MailWasher, does that message still show ?

Is MailWasher only loading Unread emails in the Inbox folder ?

Thanks, video received all OK, although I am a touch confused as to why MailWasher is displaying those emails.

Can you send me some logs, to do that go Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter a brief note like 'as per forum : tinem' >> in the Ticket Number field enter chris >> Send Logs >> reply back here once sent, so I can be sure they arrived.

Thanks

I did what you told me to but not sure it was correct. Have never done this before.

Great, logs came through perfectly.

The email account is setup as a POP account in MailWasher. With POP, MailWasher will always retrieve all the messages in the Inbox folder.

So switch to IMAP, do that in MailWasher under Settings >> Accounts >> Incoming >> change the account type to IMAP at the top >> the server address should stay the same at imap.jubii.dk >> click Advanced >> set the option to use SSL, this will also then change the port number to 993 >> Save.
That will test the account settings, and ought to work fine.

Then under the SSL option you checked earlier, there are two options relevant to new emails. One is to Download Read Email, which is off by default, so you likely want to keep that.
The other option is to only download email from the last xx days.

Hopefully that gets things working as expected.

Cheers

Thanks for your tip but it didn't help making it to IMAP but the solution was to select ALL and now it looks like everything again is good. But I kept IMAP though. :-)
