After losing all my Friends List somehow, I tried to import my email contacts - MWPro crashes every time. I've tried so far:
import from "my email program" (MSOutlook 2007) - MW immediately crashes - then I tried updating to the latest version MW (although it said I didn't need an update, I did) then trying the new option to import contacts from a CSV file (after exporting contacts from MSOutlook to a csv file) - MW did a little better - it asked to browse to the saved csv file, took a look at it and THEN crashed. Is there anything else I can try?

Win 7 Pro 64 bit, MSOutlook 2007, current version of MWPro 7.12.38.

Hopefully there is something in the file MailWasher doesn't like and I can cleanup

Okay I prepared a CSV file with about four or five dummy Outlook Contacts, and it duly crashed MW when I tried to import it. The Windows crash details were:

Great thanks, oddly I'm not getting a crash but MailWasher is importing a whole lot of junk, so it's not properly reading that file format at all. This won't be a quick fix on our part.

Interim solution, if you have Excel or Libre Office, would be to open the created CSV file, select the column heading for the Email Address field >> right click >> Copy >> go into a Notepad file >> Paste the contents >> delete the top header line >> Save the file as a text file >> then do the import again on the newly created file.

Can a moderator edit the post so license key is not showing.

Thanks for the suggestion - I tried with my very short test file - a simple Notepad file containing a list of just five johndoe email addresses - same result, MW crashed again.
If Mailwasher can't even import that - then there is something very odd going on.

Thanks for sending the file, the programmers are caught on some other things so I'm not going to be able to get this sorted out soon unfortunately.

In the interim I can only suggest rebuilding the Friends List manually. Also under Settings >> Spam Tools >> Friends List >> Options >> uncheck any of the expiry options there.

Sorry not very helpful, programmers are trying to push out a working version 8 beta and I can't use any of their time right now.

Okay. BTW - Firefox browser reports that your forum security certificate expired today?

I just received an email notification "This topic has received a reply by mahanoor since your last visit." and clicking on the link takes me to my topic but there is no post from mahanoor visible - the last one is my own post from 12th Nov.
Using the search box for "mahanoor" gives no hits.
I also have a "notification" in the forum itself that I have a reply from Anonymous dated 22/11/2020 - but once again - clicking on that takes me to a 2013 page in thewayback machine web archive and the forum tells me that the topic does not exist.

Can anyone tell me why I can't see either of these messages, and why one came by email notification and the other came via the forum notifications link?
If the answer is that a dogy spam post or 2 have been removed by a moderator - could a message be put in about that to let us know please?

Post from a spammer perhaps? There was a big batch of spam replies last week which thankfully were speedily deleted.
