I have 2 AOL accounts.

Both are set up identically in Mailwasher (apart from username and password).

After a long time of successful access, having made no changes to the account, Mailwasher is now reporting that it is unable to login on one of the accounts - despite the account still being accessible with Thunderbird and also online using a web browser.

Anyone have any suggestions as to why this has suddenly happened.

If I recall, AOL have added OAUTH which MailWasher doesn't support at present, try creating an App Password to use in MailWasher

Puzzling why the other AOL account still works though.
Why do they have to mess about - if it ain't broke don't fix it I say.

I expect they are rolling out the changes gradually across accounts, so you can probably expect the other to eventually do the same.

MailwasherPro has just started throwing up an error and failing to connect to the AOL server, I have tried creating an in App password as you suggest but it still fails to connect. So frustrating after it has worked faultlessly till now.

Can you send me some logs. To do that go Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter a brief note like 'as per forum - AOL' >> Send Logs >> reply back once sent, so I can check they arrived all OK.

Thank you for that offer but now not needed. Have tried again and generated another in App password and this time it worked - Hooray
I copied and pasted the generated password today, yesterday I had typed it in with no gaps. Looks like copy and paste is the way to go.

Is there any plan to deal with this problem in Mailwasher in due course?

We will be adding OAUTH at some point, but in the interim an App Password should work fine in MailWasher.
