A small problem caused most probably by me not doing something I should. I deleted a mail by mistake and presumed that I could recall it by going into the bin and clicking restore. Wrong.....I click restore and there is a sound with a red STOP and then the error comes up at the side of settings. The event log says unknown error. Probably something easy to put right and even if I cant sort it I shall just have to be more careful when deleting.

For the account that you deleted the message, go Settings >> Accounts >> select the Outgoing tab for this account >> check the SMTP Settings match the required settings by the email provider.

If it's your GMail, then the settings are

Address : smtp.gmail.com
Port : 465
SMTP Server Requires Authentication should be checked, and set to use the same settings as Incoming.
Secure Connection type should be SSL.
