At the very end of checking mail Mailwasher hangs while evaluating last message. Have to keep exiting and restarting, sometimes OK for an hour or so, then it happens again.
This seems to be a common issue, so surprising that it's not been fixed?

Re: Stuck on Evaluating
Usually it's from an error MailWasher is encountering. Can you send me some logs, if you go Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter a note like 'as per forum : ulysses' >> in the Ticket Number field enter chris >> Send Logs >> reply back once sent, so I can check they arrived all OK.

Re: Stuck on Evaluating
I get this problem (and have done for years) especially when it is evaluation 100s of emails. If its very few it never happens. As other user I try again and stop it evalating too many andget around it.
Its getting to the point where I am really bored with this situation!

If you do the above, I can have a look at the logs.DabbotPilot wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 4:30 amI get this problem (and have done for years) especially when it is evaluation 100s of emails. If its very few it never happens. As other user I try again and stop it evalating too many andget around it.

Re: Stuck on Evaluating
Yes, got them fine thanks, and yes, seems MW cannot connect to the Firstalert server for some reason.... could be either something blocking it on your PC, your ISP blocking access to that location, or even a temporary issue on our end... (working fine here at the moment though)
Disable Firstalert by unchecking, "Use Firstalert" under Settings>>Spam Tools>>Firstalert and click Save.
Try MWpro and see if the problem persists.
If all OK now, either leave as is, or re-enable it and see if you can find out where it is blocked, check your firewall settings to ensure port 4050 is not blocked... here's how to test the Firstalert connection too....
1.) Click, Start >> All programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt, type in or paste:
ping soap.first-alert.net
And copy and paste the contents of what happens into your reply, it should look similar to the below screenshot.
(NOTE: to copy right click the black "Command Prompt" screen, click Mark, then highlight the area you want copied using the left mouse button, then right click to copy)
------------------------------------------------
2.) Click Start>>Run, type in or paste:
telnet soap.first-alert.net 4050
(it should show a blank screen – like, totally blank)
If all OK there, Firstalert 'should' be able to connect without error.

Re: Stuck on Evaluating
Got them fine thanks! however I cant actually see any reason for this in the logs, however the origin of spam server do seem to be taking a long time to return a reply sometimes, you could try disabling these under Settings>>Spam Tools>>Origin of spam just to see if that does help at all....?
