I want to report the following crash during the action of selecting and washing mails a few times after one another

That's a new one I think, can you first try running a .NET Repair, takes around 10 minutes.

I now have one entry that shows red when I select it.
This items cannot be washed.
Why might that be?

Try removing the account from MailWasher >> restart the program >> add the account back in, that will hopefully clear the rogue email.
