Feature suggestion: selective notifications

Sat Oct 30, 2021 8:43 pm

I get about 100 emails per day (excluding all the spam that MailWasher does a wonderful job of zapping).

But out of the 100 emails, many of them are "newsletter" style emails, which, whilst wanted, are not urgent and, frankly, I don't even want to get notified about them. I'll read them some time during the day, during coffee break. As it is, I just get interrupted several times an hour by the newest offerings from my local supermarket. Grr.

My feature request would be to assign emails to specific categories which could be set to notify the user (me) in different way: sound, icon, pop-up toast - or nothing.

So, a feature to create some categories, assign different notification levels to each and then a right click on a message to assign it to a group (or not, allowing the current behaviour to remain).

I reckon within a week my PC would stay quiet except for those emails I really, really want notification about, right now!

Anyone think this suggestion has legs? :D
