I have been using this Mailwasher program for years and today is first time I have a serious problem and need your help
On a desktop using MSwindows 7 Pro
Had a problem with Adobe photoshop and had to uninstall and then install it
I then had MS windows do a restart
I then clicked on the Mailwasher Pro ICON and during it loading it pops up a error screen saying there is no drives installed !
Has a retry, ignore or try again icons but clicking on each does not close that error window and I have to use task manager
and force Mailwasher to unload
I then uninstalled Mailwasher and then downloaded the newest version which is the same version I had been using
I then used that to install again but then bringing up Mailwasher the same error screen pops up saying there is NO drives !
I then using Mswindows went to Programs via control panel, highlighted the installation of Mailwasher and then clicked on "Repair"
After that was done then Mailwasher was working again
BUT if I close it and click icon to load again, then the error screen comes back
Again did a repair in programs of contol panel and again Mailwasher works again when loading it
I assume something in the uninstallation of Photoshop deleted some file, DLL, etc that Mailwasher also used but I had no control of what photoshop uninstall process
So what causes Mailwasher when loading to pop up the error screen saying there are no drives ( clearly the hard drive is working) and am forced to unload mailwasher with task manager
Why uninstalling and then doing a Mailwasher Pro 7 install does not then install all files it requires to function
and how to I correct this ?
Thanks - JR

Re: Sudden problem on loading Mailwasher Pro 7 Errors and cannot get functional
Try a .NET Repair, takes just a few minutes
https://www.microsoft.com/en-nz/downloa ... x?id=30135
Can you post a screenshot of the full error, or email me a screenshot to forum@firetrust.com ?

I downloaded the .net repair program and ran it.
It said it could not fix the problems, but then I restarted MSwindows and then loaded MW, and it loaded fine
with that error popup did not happen
I restarted MSwindows 3 more times, each time loaded MW and loaded fine each time
So .Net repair must have corrected something, but one issue is after the first restart MSwindows no longer saw
my Netgear wireless adapter and had to solve that
Hope no other functions or program issues with whatever the .net repair process did
I'll keep track and see if MW does not error out again when being loaded/started
Thanks again

Re: Sudden problem on loading Mailwasher Pro 7 Errors and cannot get functional
.NET 4 I think is what it's built against, possibly 4.5.
As long as the Windows Updates are done you'll be up to date.
Couldn't hurt to run a System File Scan/DISM on the machine too.
Details https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/win ... d86e0ef4ca
This can take 30 minutes or so, but you can continue to use the machine while it's running.

Re: Sudden problem on loading Mailwasher Pro 7 Errors and cannot get functional
I went to that Microsoft page and when I entered the first command it fails with an error #87
C:\Users\admin>dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 6.1.7601.24499
Image Version: 6.1.7601.24499
Error: 87
The restorehealth option is not recognized in this context.
For more information, refer to the help.
The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log
Is that because this desktop is windows 7 Pro and MS no longer supports it ?
I just notice on that MS page it only supports
Windows 10 & Windows 11
Not 7 as I am using
C:\Users\admin>dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Re: Sudden problem on loading Mailwasher Pro 7 Errors and cannot get functional
Right, sorry about that.
You should be able to install this update https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/top ... 0a153805d6
Then run a slightly different command, being
dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
The System File Scan is
sfc /scannow
