Is there a way to set a rule to remove duplicate emails?

Is there a way to set a rule to remove duplicate emails?

I'm getting two or three of every email via my hosting domains.
I have switched off all message rules and either 2 or 3 turn up at a time.
The exception being my ISP email address, which only gets ONE of any email, so i know where the problem lies.

My domain-based emails all come to a catchall at my ISP via a simple forwarding that is set at the hosting domain side.

Thanks for any ideas.

Are you sure they are identical? I occasionally get what appear to be duplicates too. Same subject, same timestamp, same body. But when I examined the header information, I found one or two characters that were different. That's enough to make them "not" identical - at least as far as MW is concerned.

I would be interested in such a filter too - but it would have to ensure the emails truly are identical. One character difference could mean the difference of being on time, or a day late.

I also would not want the duplicate to be "removed" but I would want it somehow identified and marked for delete.

One last thing. You mention these emails are being forwarded. You might want to look at email addresses the sender has on file for you. They may be sending you two emails, one to the forwarding address, and one to the forwarded address too.

I'm getting either two or three of the exact same email.
It's driving me nuts!!

Well, since I get 30 to 40 emails every day, if I got one or two duplicates for each one, it sure would drive me nuts too.

I don't know how to create a rule or filter that will tag only the duplicates while ensuring the one good ones remains. Maybe someone else will come by with some ideas.

That said, the problem definitely seems to be on sender's (or forwarder's) end. And for that reason, not sure it is within Mailwasher's purview to handle these.

Did this problem just start? Or has it been going on all along? And is it only the forwarded emails? What if someone sends an email directly to your main address?

My actual email address is a catchall with my ISP Plus Net.
If I send to that Plus Net email address then I get just one email.

I have three or four domains, each has a catchall email address, which I have set to send on to the ISP email catchall address.
No other rules are set which would make the mails duplicate themselves.
It's been going on for about a week now. It never happened before.

I have taken off all the rules in Mailwasher while I'm trying to sort this out, so it's not a Mailwasher issue.
If I bypass Mailwasher and just download the emails in MS Outlook on my PC I get the duplicate emails.
If it was a Mailwasher issue, then my ISP-based emails would be duplicated too.
By a process of elimination, it's with my domain hosts.

The domain hosts support team can't work out what's going on.
They have tried to replicate the issue and can't do so.

So.... if anyone knows how to filter incoming messages to get rid of copies, I'd love to know how to do it.

Thanks guys.
