MWpro [v7.12.67] is not connecting to imap servers at all, it did previously w/o issues.
i have made no changes to my MWpro application [that is to say, any of the settings for connecting to my emails]
either to my emails nor in MWpro yet suddenly MWpro can no longer connect to imap.
what might be ther trouble here please?

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I'm having the same problem, both with imap and pop3. Neither Gmail nor Spectrum (with the mail.twc.com server) will connect. The log gives the following "unknown error" along with the "cannot connect" error:

Those are timeouts, MailWasher is trying to connect and failing to establish a connection. Given two different servers are failing to connect, this would probably suggest a software firewall program you have running that might be blocking the connection. Nope. No changes in security software AT ALL. Early Tuesday, it was working, late Tuesday and since, it wasn't.

And it's working again.
Here's what I did:
First, I disabled by email scanner in AVG.
Then...
For Gmail - Changed incoming encryption to TLS and changed the incoming port to 587. I then went to my Google account and under security, I generated a password using the instructions posted in the pinned post above.
For Spectrum - I just re-added the accounts per the instructions on Spectrum's support page, using settings for my local rr.com domain.
And then it started working.
It's likely some update in AVG to make the email scanner to make it too aggressive.
Here's what I did:
