Too many emails retrieved during "Check Mail"

Fri Mar 17, 2023 2:12 am

When I click on "check mail", is there any way to limit the number of emails it retrieves?
I must get 300+ emails each time and some are several months old or ones I have already read.

It would be nice to either:
1) Have a way to set the maximum number of emails retrieved OR
2) Set the earliest date it will retrieve OR
3) Set it so that it will not retrieve email it has already processed or that I have already read.

Thanks

You should be deleting those you have already read and don't want to keep - and/or move "the keepers" to another folder, out of reach of MW. If you don't, then MW will keep pulling them down.

Another option is to set MWPro to use IMAP (if your email account provider supports this) as by default IMAP accounts only display new unread emails, not all the old ones.

In MWPro click, Settings>>Accounts, click your email account, click the Incoming tab, and beside "Server Type:" select IMAP in place of POP.

Change the mail server to whatever your ISP recommends for IMAP.

Click save to save changes.

Yes — if you use IMAP, MailWasher has the provision for not downloading mails that you have already read:—

Alternatively, you can set 5 pre-determined period of (past) days, on your IMAP account/s . . . for which MailWasher shall download e-mails (regardless of whether you've read them or not):—
