Configuring SpamCop for MailWasher Pro (version 7.12.54

Sun Mar 19, 2023 3:23 am

I am trying to configure MailWasher Pro (vers 7) to work with SpamCop and I am having difficulty.

The first attached file shows the Settings dialog that it wants me to fill out. This is a default placeholder configuration.

SpamCop Indicated the following (below), but when I follow it and use the text they provide and try to save, I get the error shown in second attached file.
Cookie log-in:

If you have questions or problems, please visit:

Forward your spam to: submit.w0lWYX0FvyCu6s9c@spam.spamcop.net

They gave me a username and a password. I am not sure where that is supposed to go.

In MailWasher Pro Help, I see references to a UID but I don't know that that is or where to get it.

Could someone show me where I am going wrong?

1. Since you've posted your spam reporting address submit.w0l[redacted]s9c@spam.spamcop.net here, I'd advise logging into SpamCop, going to Preferences, and deleting your account.

Then set up a new SpamCop account so that you get a new spam reporting address that only you know.

At the moment, anyone could use your spam reporting address, which is likely to lead to problems.

2. Once you've set up your new SpamCop account, in MailWasher, go to the Settings tab, then choose Spam Tools on the left, and then Spam Reporting. Click on Add Service at the top and you will see a window like:

Spam Reporting Setup - 2023_0319.jpg

In Service Name, put something like SpamCop.

In Email to, put the submit.w0l[redacted]s9c@spam.spamcop.net type email address that SpamCop gives you.

In Send report via, add the email account that you want to use to send the spam reports to SpamCop. A Gmail account generally works best.

Click on Save and the reporting service should be set up. You then just need to make sure that the Reporting column is included in the MailWasher Inbox grid so that you can select the messages to be reported.

If you want to test this out to see how the reporting system works, put one of your own email addresses in the Email to field and then report a few emails to yourself.

3. The current MailWasher version is v7.12.125 so you should go to https://www.firetrust.com/products/mail ... o/download and download and install the current version.
