Mailwasher not starting.
My mailwasher is not starting when I start the computer. In the settings, I set it, To Launch When Windows Starts, but it keeps defaulting back to, None.

Re: Mailwasher not starting.
Can you please re-enable it, then click File>>Exit to close Mailwasher Pro.
Restart it and see if it holds this time....?
If not, try adding a shortcut to Mailwasher, (drag and drop from your desktop using the right mouse button) to your startup folder under either:
Start>>All Programs>>Startup folder.
OR:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp

Re: Mailwasher not starting.
Did you try editing the startup setting directly into your GeneralSettings.xml file?
- (Navigate to) >> Help >> User Files...
- Backup your GeneralSettings.xml to a secure location
- (In the Window that Explorer throws open, right-click the) GeneralSettings.xml >> Edit with Notepad (or any other Notepad replacement program of your choice)
- Using copy-paste, add the following line (as highlighted in red on my illustration) — under the appropriate code <Application> (on my system . . . it appears on line # 15.)
Code: Select all
<NoStartupOption />
MailWasher Pro (βeta) | Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC (22H2) | The Bat! Professional (βeta) | Windows 10 Firewall Control (βeta) | ESET Endpoint Antivirus (βeta) | nVIDIA GeForce (GTX 1060) | WebView2 Runtime (118.0.2088.61) | .NET Framework (4.8.1)

Re: Mailwasher not starting.
Hmmm . . . really strange — can you extract the MailWasher shortcut (from the file attached) . . . into the following directory and check whether it resolves your startup issue:—
Code: Select all
C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Yes, I have done that but I can't restart the computer yet to try it. I'll get back to you as soon as I have done that.

Re: Mailwasher not starting.
Does the MailWasher setting now, continue to remain at None . . . or, Launch when Windows starts up?
If the setting continues to remain at None . . . your security system (or some program) might be blocking/deleting your MailWasher startup entry — did you make any change/s (or install any new program) just around the time this issue started?
If the setting is now displayed as Launch when Windows starts up . . . MailWasher could be starting-up with Windows but probably just hiding behind the System Tray Notification Area?

Re: Mailwasher not starting.
Yes.... the usual other reason it wont load on startup is that MWPro is set to run as admin from either the shortcut in the startup folder, or the programs .exe file itself...
Locate and right click on these, click Properties, and ensure that nothing is ticked under the Compatibility tab.
If still no good, click Start, search for msconfig and click msconfig.exe.
Click the startup tab, and ensure that MWPro is ticked (if there).

Re: Mailwasher not starting.
No. Still not working. I have done all you suggested. I set it to Run When Widows Starts, saved it then I looked in the Inbox then went back to settings and it had reset itself back to NONE. Weird. Maybe I should uninstall it and install it again.
I did not make any change/s (or install any new program) just around the time this issue started.
