I'm trying to understand the 'auto delete' feature. I've set this up in a couple of the Spam Tools.
After doing a 'check mail', I see some spam emails in the MW inbox with a check mark in the 'Delete' column. Then, I hit 'Wash Mail', and these marked emails disappear from the inbox.
I'm wondering why they are not auto deleted. My thinking is that an 'auto delete' should prevent them from even appearing in my inbox to start with.
What am I missing?
thx

Re: 'Autodelete' not deleting?
Yes, MW will only automatically delete them if the spam tool you have set to auto delete actually catches the email, likely another spam tool is catching it, NOT the one you set to auto delete...
You can see which spam tool is catching the email under by clicking View>>Sidebar>>Evaluation button, and it should tell you there which spam tool is catching these emails.....

Re: 'Autodelete' not deleting?
Thanks. That makes sense.
I see one of these emails marked for delete in the inbox as a 'Learning email content analyzed" in the Evaluation info area. Then I go to 'Learning Settings'. I don't see an 'auto delete' option here. Am I missing something?
thx!

Re: 'Autodelete' not deleting?
Yes, to set MW to auto delete ANY email that comes in over a specific spam rating, click Settings>>Spam Tools>>Spam Ratings, and tick, "Auto delete if rating reaches:"
Note however, I recommend you read this first before enabling that option:

As unless your learning has been trained by yourself to be 100% accurate, (not marking any good emails as spam) it may auto delete some good emails too....
