With the latest update to subject version number, if I mark an email as a Friend, it does not update in the Status Column as a Friend however, in the Friends List under the Spam Tools tab it appears as a Friend.

what is interesting is, it only affects certain email addresses/domains.

everything seems to be working as of now. Not sure what fixed it but it's gone.

Sorry about the lack of reply to this one, missed it somehow! and yes, I have also seen this myself, but not for a couple of weeks, it's on the list to fix if not already though... cheers!
